Membership Information

Dues payments to the Ohio Housing Council are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However, dues payments may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expense, subject to the exclusion for lobbying activity. Because a portion of your dues is used for lobbying by OHC, 19% of the total dues is not deductible for income tax purposes.

    • Women Business Enterprises and Minority Business Enterprises that have done no more than three LIHTC developments in the last ten years and no more than one in the previous year
    WBE Eligibility
    • A Women-owned Business Enterprise is defined as a business that is at least 51% owned and controlled by a woman who is an Ohio resident
    MBE Eligibility
    • A for-profit organization must be at least 51% owned and controlled for more than one year by one of the following ethnic groups: African American, Asian, Hispanic or Native American
    • A nonprofit organization must have been led for more than one year by any Ohio resident who belongs to one of the following ethnic groups: African American, Asian, Hispanic or Native American
    • Community Development Corporations
    Eligibility
    • Be organized as a nonprofit corporation and have a letter from the Internal Revenue Service confirming its status as an organization described in IRC 501(c)(3)
    • Be geographically defined by its Articles of Incorporation or Code of Regulations
    • Have a neighborhood base with active resident involvement
    • Demonstrate actual projects undertaken in the construction or rehabilitation of affordable housing in its neighborhood base

      Associates: $500

      Only for individuals who have been – but are no longer – engaged or employed by a firm or corporation engaged in a trade, industry, or profession related to the affordable housing industry.

      Affiliates: $2,000

      Only for organizations that are not eligible to be a Full Member but that work with the affordable housing industry.
